With effect from 10 October, Kombiverkehr is trialling shipments on the Köln-Eifeltor Ubf – Ludwigshafen (Rh) BASF Ubf – I-Triest Molo VI v.v. route. These are A-B services within Germany and between Germany and Trieste. The days of dispatch are Monday and Thursday in Cologne, Tuesday and Friday in Ludwigshafen and, going in the opposite direction, Wednesday and Saturday from Trieste. The new train product will also make it possible to take national and gateway consignments on the Köln-Eifeltor Ubf – Ludwigshafen (Rh) BASF Ubf  v.v. route. It also serves as a feeder for the trains to Austria, Spain and Italy. All standard transport units, including trailers with a P400 profile, can be conveyed on the new link, as well as hazardous goods in Classes 1 and 7. Transport services via München-Riem to Trieste are currently running at full capacity, so the new product will be of particular benefit to forwarding companies using this route. More capacity on the Köln-Eifeltor – München-Riem v.v. link will be created at the same time. This will help to prevent overbooking in future. If the test run goes smoothly at the terminals and there is sufficient customer interest, the service will subsequently be incorporated into Kombiverkehr's regular timetable.
