(Frankfurt/Main, 14 April 2021) Kombiverkehr KG is strengthening its commitment to sales on the growing intermodal corridor to and from the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Luxembourg with the appointment of Jouke Schaap (44). Schaap took on the new position of Manager Benelux in the International Sales department on 1 March 2021. His activities will initially be focused on expanding the services to and from Mortara that have recently been integrated into the network. The products are to be tailored even more closely to the requirements of customers from the forwarding and logistics industries. In addition, new train products are to be launched in order to attract companies which have not yet had their goods and materials transported on climate-friendly rail. "In Jouke Schaap we have brought on board for these tasks an experienced intermodal manager whose many years in the industry and specialist know-how give him the necessary background for the expansion of services," says Managing Director Alexander Ochs.
Jouke Schaap had occupied a variety of managerial positions since 2004, including stints working for the Port of Rotterdam, APM Terminals, Peel Ports and Shuttlewise B.V. Among the responsible posts he held were director breakbulk, head of the commercial department, port director (containers) and managing director. Schaap studied international management at the Haarlem Business School before graduating from Rotterdam's Erasmus University with an MBA.
Jouke Schaap (44) now heads up the Benelux section in the International Sales department of Kombiverkehr KG.
