Turkish Port of Alsancak connected to Kombiverkehr network
01/19/2017

Kombiverkehr is now able to offer a ferry connection between Trieste and the Turkish port of Alsancak, near Izmir, twice a week in each direction with immediate effect. Services will depart Trieste on Mondays and Fridays and Alsancak on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All standard transport units including semitrailers and dangerous goods except classes 1 and 7 can be carried on the route. From Trieste shipments can be forwarded on Kombiverkehr‘s eu.NETdirekt+ network to Cologne, Ludwigshafen and Munich and from there via gateway services to other European countries.

The new route is offered in conjunction with the ferry provider ALTERNATIVE and supplements the existing ferry service to the Turkish ports of Ambarli, Haydarpasa, Pendik, Mersin and Cesme. With a loading capacity of 12 million tonnes a year, the port of Alsancak is one of the largest container ports in Turkey. Around twenty per cent of all Turkish exports pass through the port of Alsancak on their way to all corners of the world.
