RID/ADR 2017
11/30/2016
The new RID/ADR comes into force on 1 January 2017. The RID/ADR 2015 may still be used during a transition phase until 30.06.2017. As a note is required on the rail transport document, please indicate 'RID 2015' when making a booking.

You will find an overview of all the changes in RID under the following link:
http://www.otif.org/index.php?id=552&L=0

Here are some changes in the area of Combined Transport:

Part 3: Some new UN numbers have been added, including UN 3528, UN 3529 and UN 3530 (all to do with combustion engines). There are new entries relating to other UN numbers. There are also many minor changes in Table 3.2.

Part 5: A new template for a dangerous goods label for lithium batteries with the number 9A has been introduced (5.2.2.2.2 ADR/RID).

Important:
this is only affixed to packages, not to transport units!
The class number, i.e. "9", is indicated in the transport document rather than the new dangerous goods label.

5.4.1.2.2: The ADR has adopted a new section (d) with the following text:
In the case of tank containers carrying refrigerated liquefied gases the consignor shall enter in the transport document the date (or time) by which the actual holding time will be exceeded: "End of holding time:…………..(DD/MM/YYYY)". The previous text in the RID is amended accordingly.

We also refer in this connection to 6.8.3.4.10, 6.8.3.4.11 and 6.8.3.5.4 ADR/RID. This relates to the holding time for tanks carrying refrigerated liquefied gases. However, there is a transitional provision in 1.6.4.47 ADR/RID, which must also be duly observed.
