(Frankfurt am Main / Rotterdam, 15 November 2019) Rotterdam-based train operating company KombiRail Europe B.V. is filling its second managing director position on 1 December 2019. From that date Kerstin Corvers will share responsibility for the development and expansion of business with long-standing managing director Thomas Knechtel. She is taking over the finance and personnel departments from Katja Schräder, who left the management team in October.
Kerstin Corvers can look back on more than 25 years of experience in combined road-rail transport, including a stint as director of finance and personnel at Terminal Singen TSG GmbH. "As a proven expert in asset management, Kerstin Corvers was responsible for the entire intermodal wagon fleet of DB Cargo AG and its planning, control and development at DB Intermodal Services GmbH until 2012. Her expertise has been of great assistance to the transport services of Kombiverkehr KG, among others. We are delighted to be able to draw on Kerstin Corvers' experience and network in the development of KombiRail Europe," explained Armin Riedl, representing the partner Kombiverkehr Intermodal Services AG.
KombiRail Europe started its operational activities as a train operating company in 2010 with trains between Duisburg-Ruhrort Hafen DUSS and Rotterdam RSC. Today it boasts a variety of regular connections between the Rhine-Ruhr region and the Netherlands. The company also performs spot business services on request and can provide wagon masters and engine crews.
Kerstin Corvers will become the new managing director of KombiRail Europe B.V. on 1 December 2019
