Extra capacity added to Kombiverkehr's product range
11/30/2016
Kombiverkehr will be adding to its product range at the start of 2017 by expanding and adapting capacity in national and international transport. The changes on the individual transport axes are as follows:

Northern Europe & German Baltic Sea Ports:
  • With effect from CW 3, the number of departures between Duisburg-Ruhrort Hafen Ubf and Rostock Seehafen Ubf will be increased from the current three to five per week in each direction. Tuesday and Thursday will be added to the existing departure days of Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from Duisburg. The train will then run in the opposite direction on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Gateway options via the terminal in Duisburg include Rotterdam, Antwerp and Lyons.
  • Three rather than two weekly departures will be offered in each direction between Kiel-Schwedenkai and Verona Quadrante Europa from the start of February. An additional Friday departure will then be added to the existing days of Thursday and Sunday in Kiel. A Thursday departure will be added to the Tuesday and Saturday departures in Verona.
  • The handling costs in Lübeck-Nordlandkai and Lübeck-Schlutup will no longer be part of our range of services with effect from 1 January 2017. This means that transfers to Lübeck-CTL, Lübeck-Lehmannkai, Lübeck-Nordlandkai, Lübeck-Schlutup and Lübeck-Seelandkai are on a FOT (Free On Truck) basis, i.e. the costs of crane operations in these sections of the port are not included in our range of services.
  • With effect from CW 1, Kombiverkehr will be responding to a growing number of requests from customers to expand capacity on services between Duisburg-Ruhrort Hafen DUSS and Hamburg-Billwerder by increasing train weights from 1,600 to 2,000 tonnes.

Southern Europe:
  • Round trips between München-Riem and Milan will be upped from three to four a week in each direction with effect from CW 2. In addition, transport services will be moved from the Milano Segrate terminal to the Milano Smistamento terminal as soon as the timetable changes on 11 December. The gateway connection from Milano Smistamento to and from Pomezia near Rome will still be available. A new gateway service will be provided to and from Catania Bicocca in Sicily.
  • Departures from Hamburg-Billwerder Ubf to Verona are to be increased from the existing three to five a week in each direction with effect from CW 2. Shipments that previously used Verona Quadrante Europa are being moved to the Verona Interterminal facility. This means that direct trains will be operating daily between Hamburg and Verona in future. Gateway services will continue to be provided via München-Riem and Verona for consignments to and from Nola Interporto and Bari Giovinazzo, as well as hazardous goods consignments.
  • The six weekly train departures between Ludwigshafen (RH) BASF Ubf and Verona Quadrante Europa will be boosted to a total of eight by adding two more weekly departures in each direction with effect from CW2. Two daily departures will then be provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Ludwigshafen (RH) BASF Ubf, and on Wednesdays and Fridays from Verona.

Western Europe:
  • As of 9 January 2017, the Duisburg-Ruhrort Hafen DUSS terminal will be linked with the Moerdijk CCT terminal in the eu.NETdirekt+ network three times a week in each direction. This is an A-B service. The departure days are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in Duisburg and Monday, Wednesday and Friday going in the opposite direction. The new train product offers a multitude of national and international gateway connections from Duisburg, for example to and from Hamburg, Ludwigshafen, Munich, F-Lyons, Poland, Czech Republic and Austria. The new service can be used to convey all standard transport units apart from trailers.
