Due to the long disruption of the Rhine Valley line near Rastatt the Suisse Federal Office for Streets (ASTRA) has offered the transport companies the following: All handling terminals in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, are, as of now, equal to the Suisse terminals. All loading units, with destination Switzerland, are now allowed to be transported on the streets with an increased loading weight of 44 tonnes. Inversely, loading units from Baden-Württemberg which are supposed to be transported by rail, are allowed to be transported on the streets already from Switzerland with a total weight of 44 tonnes. The exemption is valid as of now and will be maintained for the duration of the line closure. The exemption does not apply to transits through Switzerland.
