Kombiverkehr links Katy Wroclawskie and Polish ports of Gdynia and Gdansk to direct Germany – Poland train service
04/26/2019
  • Two weekly round trips now operating from Poznan CLIP terminal for transport
    within Poland
  • End-to-end bookings to and from Duisburg DUSS and numerous European
    economic centres

(Frankfurt/Main, 26 April 2019) Kombiverkehr KG has now added a vital connecting service to
the direct train which only started running between the DUSS terminal in Duisburg and Swarzedz
in Poland in January 2019. Intermodal rail transport services are now available from the CLIP
terminal – situated about 10 kilometres to the east of Poznan – to and from Katy Wroclawskie in
the south of Poland and to the ports of Gdynia and Gdansk in the north. End-to-end Gateway
services from Poznan also provide a link to the PKP Cargo Connect terminal in the Praga district
of Warsaw. The close collaboration with Polish terminal operator CLIP means that Europe's
largest provider of intermodal transport provides transport services to and from Poland that link
all the key economic centres of Poland, thus opening up new opportunities for customers in the
forwarding and logistics industry to carry their freight on this important transport corridor in an
environmentally friendly way.

The journey time for rail shipments from the closing time for acceptance until the pick-up time
varies between two and five days depending on the destination terminal and the day of
departure. On Mondays, for example, Katy Wroclawskie can be reached from Duisburg in just
two days and forwarders can gain access to the Polish ports in three days. Containers, swap
bodies and semitrailers can be transferred onto various national and international block trains at
the Duisburg-Ruhrort Hafen DUSS gateway terminal. As well as important links to and from
Rotterdam, Moerdijk and Antwerp, there is also a fast connecting service to Lyons in France.
Hamburg, Ludwigshafen and Munich are linked with Duisburg in Germany. Interested parties will
find detailed online timetable information on the Kombiverkehr website.
