(Frankfurt/Main, 9. November 2020) Frankfurt-based Kombiverkehr KG is expanding its commitment to intermodal transport between Germany and Scandinavia by strengthening its sales activities in what has been a fast-growing business field for a number of years. In Björn Saschenbrecker (39), Kombiverkehr has secured the cooperation of a highly regarded sales expert in the logistics market who also brings with him relevant know-how in short-sea shipping alongside many years of experience in this market segment of intermodal transport. Saschenbrecker will assist Peter Dannewitz, Head of Sales, and Ulrich Bedacht, Manager North European Transport & German Baltic Sea Ports, in these new tasks. The focus is on cultivating direct contact with the ports, partner companies and existing customers while also establishing contacts with potential new customers. The existing products on routes to and from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and the Baltic states are also to be intensified and expanded on the basis of further market findings. The Frankfurt company already offers a broad range of end-to-end rail connections via the fixed link routes and the German Baltic Sea ports of Lübeck, Kiel and Rostock as well as closely coordinated services between the ferries of various operators and railway companies.
Björn Saschenbrecker worked for ferry company TT-Line for more than ten years, the last nine as Head of Freight with a focus on strategy and development. During this time he held responsibility for developing the freight sector and the route network as well as managing strategic partnerships and optimising existing supplier relationships. As Head of Ground Operations Continent, he also spent two years in charge of land-side operations in Travemünde and Rostock, developing and implementing service standards and optimising supplier management for port services.
