Kombiverkehr expands network via Gotthard
02/25/2021

- New routes between Krefeld, Rotterdam and Ghent and Mortara in Italy

(Frankfurt/Main, 25 February 2021) Kombiverkehr KG has added three new connections to its international network. From this week the range of services between Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy via Gotthard will be supplemented by direct trains running from Krefeld – Mortara v.v., Ghent – Mortara v.v. and Rotterdam CTT – Mortara v.v. In addition to the existing connections to and from Busto and Novara in Italy, which are marketed in conjunction with partner company Hupac, the company also serves another key terminal in northern Italy. Located in the province of Pavia, Mortara offers ideal road links to the northern Italian economic region centred on Milan, just 70 kilometres away. Trains to and from Mortara currently run up to five times a week on each route. In addition to containers and swap bodies, the transport of semi-trailers is also possible, in the foreseeable future also with profile P400.

"With the trains to and from Mortara in northern Italy, we are strengthening our services via the Gotthard corridor, which will become increasingly important for our customers," says Managing Director Alexander Ochs. "In combination with the Brenner and Tauern services, which we offer together with Mercitalia Intermodal, we will in future have the range of transport options on the most important European routes Germany - Italy, Benelux - Italy and Scandinavia - Italy with the use of all three routings, leaving no customer wishes unfulfilled," adds Peter Dannewitz, Head of Sales.
