Kombiverkehr joins forces with Cemat and Bohemiakombi to launch direct train between Czech Republic and Italy
This week three direct trains will link the industrial regions of the northern Czech Republic and the south of Poland with those of northern Italy in combined road-rail transport (CT) for the very first time. The trains, on which containers, swap bodies and semitrailers can be carried, will run three times a week in each direction between Ostrava in the Czech Republic and Verona in Italy.

Modernisation in the codification of intermodal loading units - Issuance of the ILU-Codes by UIRR begins from 1 July 2011
The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) has adopted with a substantial majority the reworked standard EN13044 (ILU) wich will bring a fundamental modernisation in the codification of swap-bodies and semi-trailers used in continental Combined Transport. The issuance of the ILU-Codes by UIRR begins from 1 July 2011. More information can be found here.

Infrastructure bottlenecks put the brakes on growth at Kombiverkehr
In the 2010 financial year, Frankfurt-based Kombiverkehr KG posted some of the best results in the more than 40-year history of the company, with some growth rates in double figures. In total, 933,039 truck consignments (1.866 million TEU) were shifted from road to rail, 9.1 per cent up on the previous year. More information here.

Kombiverkehr gives the starting signal for CO2-free transport and a new express transport network at transport logistic
Forwarders and transport companies can now arrange to send truck consignments entirely by rail without producing any emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2), substantially improving their own climate balance and that of their customers.
