CESAR operators are currently investigating customer demand for a mobile version of the CESAR tracking and tracing system. The existing internet application has been used successfully for many years, but it was developed for standard desktop devices and is less suitable for use on smartphones.
To make it easier to use CESAR on mobile devices, a simple CESAR query function for intermodal transport units has been developed. It is available at m.cesar-online.com. Once the application starts the user can log in using the existing login details. The menu allows information about the current status of an intermodal transport unit to be obtained by entering the number of the transport unit. This first function will be used to assess the general demand for a mobile application for our customers. If there is widespread interest, it is proposed to expand the query functions.
