In light of recent events, we must reiterate strongly that dome covers and any additional protective caps on tank containers, portable tanks and the like must be properly closed. If this is not done, the train will have to be stopped and the wagon removed, which can lead to considerable delays and cost. In addition, the closure devices on the tank container (valve, flange, etc.) must also be sealed. This expressly applies for empty, uncleaned intermodal transport units as well.
The monitoring authorities are stepping up checks to ensure compliance with the regulations. Please inform your drivers and partners (fillers and unloaders) accordingly so that they check the dome covers and protective caps again before arrival at the terminal.
